The Crisis

Every night, thousands of men, women, and children across Uganda sleep on the streets, in drainage tunnels, abandoned buildings, and market stalls—exposed to hunger, illness, exploitation, and despair. Kampala alone is home to over 15,000 homeless individuals, most of them young people displaced by poverty, abuse, or war.

Our Response

The 5000Men Charity Homeless shelters & Reintegration Program (2025–2035) is a Christ-centered mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and reintegrate the homeless into society. We are not only offering beds, but restoring dignity, identity, and hope.

What We Do

  • Provide nightly accommodation, bedding, and hygiene support.
  • Serve daily hot meals and ensure safe sanitation.
  • Offer spiritual devotionals, chaplaincy care, and trauma healing.
  • Refer participants to The Giver’s Refuge rehabilitation program for addiction and mental health recovery.
  • Deliver skills training, job placement, and reintegration into families or communities.

How We Fund It

To keep these services running, we need an annual operational budget of USD 840,150.
This covers food, rented shelter facilities, medical support, program staff, and reintegration activities.

At the same time, we are investing in long-term sustainability. Our flagship capital project is the purchase and remodeling of a downtown Kampala building into a permanent homeless shelter, at an estimated USD 7,045,000.

Our Impact Goals (2025–2035)

  • Serve 1,000,000+ individuals with meals, shelter, and counseling.
  • Rehabilitate 100,000 people through recovery and therapy.
  • Reintegrate 20,000 individuals into sustainable jobs or homes.
  • Establish 8 permanent city shelters across Uganda.

Flagship Kampala Shelter
This multi-storey permanent center will provide:

  • Dormitories, dining hall, and kitchen facilities.
  • Medical and counseling rooms.
  • Vocational training workshops.
  • Prayer and chapel space.
  • Safe, dignified housing for Uganda’s most vulnerable.

Our Foundation
“Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter?” – Isaiah 58:7

Call to Action
This is more than a shelter project. It is a movement of compassion, a mission of reform, and a model of God’s love made manifest in bricks, bread, and belonging.
